Japanese Urban Legend: Demonic murderer

Translated from Japanese by Shishou(師匠)

Urban Legend

Whether you believe it or not, it depends on you.

It happened on a certain winter's night.
My mother asked, "Distribute these circular notices to the neighbors."
I agreed reluctantly and went to do the job. Luckily, the recipients' houses were inside the apartment building, so it wasn't much trouble.

After completing the job, I was returning to my house, when suddenly I heard a sound.
"Ke Ke Ke Ke Ke Ke Ke Ke..."
It sounded like a strange crying sound.
I thought, "Maybe, it's an insect.", and calmly looked over to my surroundings.
But there was nothing.

That instant.
"KachiKachiKachiKachi...."
I heard a sound that sounded like something metallic was being dragged along a road.

Troubled, I looked around once more.
And I saw...something. That thing was coming towards me, dragging a large ax behind it.

I looked at it carefully. With a demonic face, that thing was approaching me slowly.
I was scared and let out a cry. My brain was screaming "I'm going to get killed".
I ran away.
I ran away from the house, here and there. I continued running wherever I could run to.

I used up my physical strength and halted for a while.
I looked around the area.

Despair filled me.
That demonic face person was coming towards me, smiling eerily.
And then, his faced changed to a serious look.
He dashed towards me with a great speed.
I lost consciousness.

  1. I don't really get this, but, are those circular notices supposed to be a protective charm to protect those neighboors from the Demon? Sorry, but I'm very curious xD

    1. Nah, I think they were just distributing normal notices. Maybe pamphlets describing some event/festival.
