Japanese Cryptic: The Burning Bike

Translated from Japanese by Shishou(師匠)

Cryptic Story

My friend told this story to me.

In the dead of night, while driving on a hilly road, my fried came across a grove that was up in flames.

He stopped his car. He noticed that, for some reason, the road was stained in red color. It was blood.

When he looked towards the burning grove, he noticed that it was actually a bike that was burning.

A person with helmet was collapsed near the bike. That person had lost an arm. My friend quickly called an ambulance.

He returned home after that. When he parked his car, he found that the rear wheel was stained red. Why did it happen?

Next day, the accident-victim came to his house to thank him for saving his life.

So, he really lost his arm...That's sad.

"When I got into the accident, did you see any other car there? I lost my arm because a car ran over it"

That guy really thought he was going to get killed there.

      Yeah, it's the correct explanation.

  2. can't exactly blame the guy with the car. it's the dead of night, hilly road, probably so dark, he looked at the burning bike, retinas narrowing due to the light from the flame, unable to see the biker in the dark because of it

    1. But the good thing is that atleast the guy called an ambulance so the victim got saved.

  4. Ah, I overthought this one! Really thought there was more to the story than what it seemed on the surface.

    1. But I feel there's something significant about the last line: "That guy really thought he was going to get killed there."

    2. Maybe he thought that the car-guy was going to escape without helping him.

    3. I thought the man with car is getting a mini heart attack because he realized he was the one who run over the arm. And he thought "Damn am I gonna be killed now for running over an arm?"

  6. I understand that the car guy ran over the arm, but I want to know how the bike caught fire

    1. Maybe the guy was riding the bike very fast and when the bike crashed it caught fire because of friction.
