Japanese Cryptic: Misfortunate John

Translated from Japanese by Shishou(師匠)

Cryptic Story

John, who had been through a tragedy, went to the Orphanage's Sensei* and asked.

John: "Sensei, why don't I have Mom or Dad?"

Sensei: "Well, about your Mom and Dad....When you were little, they were murdered by a Black man during a robbery."

John: "Why can't I walk? Why can't I see?"

Sensei: "Because that robber did bad things to you."

John developed hatred for that Black man.

He started hating all the Black people in this world.

He knew it was not possible, but he wanted to search the robber and kill him.

One day ,the Sensei said to John.

Sensei: "Be happy, John. We are going to get your eyes and legs cured."

John went through surgery that cured both his legs and eyes.

The next day after he had received surgery, he used his new legs to jump in front of a train.

* Sensei: Sensei is an honorific used to address Teachers, Doctors, etc. Here I didn't translate it as I wanted to keep the meaning vague.

I know this story is stereotyping black people, but I've translated the story as it is, so I apologize if  anyone finds it offensive.

Japanese Cryptic: Home Alone

Translated from Japanese by Shishou(師匠)

Cryptic Story

I'm all alone at the house right now.

My parents have gone to attend a funeral.
My sister has gone to visit her friend.

I'm the only one in the house.

I turn on the TV after locking all the doors.

The all-star pro-baseball match is being broadcasted on TV.

Pacific-league has decided to field first.

I wonder who'll win...?

I think I heard someone's footsteps on the second floor.

I hear someone entering into the room above me.

Ah, it must be my sister. She came home early...

Well, I think her friend might be busy today.

I turn towards the TV.
Itoi of the Oryx hits the ball perfectly.

At that moment, I hear a laugh coming from above.

She looks in a good mood.

The match is becoming more intense.

Sawamura of the Giants is doing a good pitching.
This time I hear a angry shout coming from above.
Is she angry?

Her voice sounds messy. Maybe, she has cold? She should just got to sleep.

The match ends in a draw.
It was an interesting match.

Sawamura is declared as the MVP of the match.

My sister must be happy as she's a Giant's fan.

Ghost Hunt: Akumu No Sumu Ie Novel (Vol 1+2) PDF

Hi everyone, Shishou here.

I've compiled the English translation of Akumu No Sumu Ie Novel (by touchturnfly) into PDF format for offline reading. Please download the PDF using the links (google drive) below.

Download Akumu No Sumu Ie Volume 1

Download Akumu No Sumu Ie Volume 2

The translations were done by touchturnfly on spr.dreamwidth.org
I created a python script that scraped the Novel from spr.dreamwidth.org and converted it into PDF.

Download ePub version here : https://archive.org/details/AkumuNoSumuIeVol.1OnoFuyumi

Info on Akumu No Sumu Ie:
Akumu no Sumu Ie - Ghost Hunt is based on a sequel novel of the
original Ghost Hunt novel, set several months in the future. Both Akumu No Sumu Ie and Ghost Hunt
also have their respective manga versions.

English Title:  The House of Nightmares - Ghost Hunt

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So, as you guys know I'm a huge fan of horror stories, and because of that I've watched a lot of
horror anime and read a plenty of horror manga/ light novels. Out of all the horror manga, the
Ghost Hunt series easily takes the top spot for its detailed and creepy plot. Ibitsu, Hideout, Hanako
to guuwa no tera, youtsuya senpai no kaidan are also good horror manga.

Coming back to Ghost hunt, I've been wanting to read its sequel(manga version) for a long time but
due to lack of translators, the manga took a long time to get translated--last chapter got released on
24 Dec 16--so in the mean time I found spr.dreamwidth.org, which had the novel version of Akumu
No Sumu Ie, and I found the novel version to be richer than the manga version.
So a few days ago, when I was learning web scarping in python, I thought why not make a script
that will help me read the Akumu No Sumu Ie novel offine. That's how I decided to convert the novel
into PDF.

Hope you guys will enjoy it.

Japanese Cryptic: Canned-Beer

Translated from Japanese by Shishou(師匠)

Cryptic Story

A guy went to a convenience store late at night.

"This would do for today." He picked up a canned-beer.

As he was about to leave the store, he felt a hand on his shoulder.

"Hey, wait...!"

He heard a creepy voice from behind.

"Ahhhhh----!"

The guy shrugged-off the hand that grabbed him and ran quickly towards his house.

When he reached home, he calmed down and opened up the can's lid.

Everything went dark.

Japanese Horror: Please Tell Me The Way

Translated from Japanese by Shishou(師匠)

Short Story

sunset-creepy-woman

"Please tell me the way. "

A tall woman asked me this while I was returning home from work in the evening.
She wore tattered clothes, her legs with incredibly thin, and it looked like she was having difficulty maintaining her balance.

Though she was asking me, but her gaze was in the completely opposite direction.
"A...Umm...To where..?" I asked her.

She was kinda freaky so I wanted to go away from her quickly.

"X town. 1-19-4-201"

"............." I was creeped out by now.

That's the address to my apartment! She even knows my room number.

"I...I don't know" I replied.

I didn't want to associate myself with her any further, so I looked at her with an irritated face. She looked at me for a few seconds and then bowed before me.

"Thank...." She then walked away.

I looked at her until her figure disappeared completely.

I went to my apartment using a long route, just in case if she was following me.

I went to my room, confirmed it was still locked, unlocked it and entered inside.

"Please tell me the way." A voice could be heard from inside my room.

Japanese Horror: How To See Ghosts

 Translated from Japanese by Shishou(師匠)

Ritual

I don't have reikan*, but even then I can see ghosts.

So, I'm gonna tell you how you can see them even when you are not born with the ability.

It's quite simple. Never look straight at anything.
Instead, look at the corners of your field-of-vision.
You will see them in the opposite corner of field-of-vision.

In a room where no one is present except you, you will catch a glimpse of them from the corner of your eyes. You might think the thing you saw was just a figment of your imagination.

Listen to me. Those things are not your imagination.
They are ghosts; keep that in mind.
