Japanese Cryptic: Department store's roof

Cryptic Story

 

I was on the roof of a department store, enjoying the scenic beauty that the surroundings had to offer.

I started feeling hungry. The restaurant was on the 4th floor, so I pressed the button to call the elevator.

While waiting for the elevator I thought about what I should eat.

Elevator came and the door opened, but I couldn't get inside it as it was full with people.

Left without any other option, I took the emergency staircase to reach the restaurant.

The omelet-rice sure was delicious!

    I`m clueless..the person took the emergency staircase and he even thought what should he eat.. hmm. and suddenly omelet-rice?..Help me Shishou

      He's on the roof, the lift should've been either empty or the people inside should've went out when they arrive at the roof.

    And I always thought it was way creepier in emergency stairs, for some reason :O. Is it because the lack of space in lift so paranormal being like small place better? But isn't lift light are so bright, yet paranormal being do not prefer light environment? Also, lift are being used by many people everyday, so I thought paranormal beings prefer "humanly untouched" like emergency staircase?

      I've read a couple of creepy stories about paranormal things occurring on emergency stairs.

      Maybe they are residual ghosts so they don't mind humans? It could be possible that the narrator saw the illusion of elevator.

    been awhile since my last visit! happy for the new updates. I was admitted to a hospital so couldn't check on the updates.
    okay, what I found odd is the fact that the people inside the lift, went to the roof but didn't get out, and in the first place why did they went there? or are the the ghosts of people who committed suicide by jumping off the roof?

      It could be possible they were ghosts of suicide victims. Or maybe the ghosts are always present in the elevator but narrator could see them because of some special ability?

      OR! It was due to an elevator accident! The wire which was supporting the elevator snapped. Or it night also be people who died inside it while there was a huge scale of earthquake.

      The most likely case is there was an earthquake and those people unable to get out of the elevator because of the building debris. Oh, and thank you for your concern, both Shishou and Winda-san.

    (Maybe) The narrator is an agoraphobic person who can't stand a minute with people. Note that if the elevator is full of people, it will take too long for the narrator to wait for all the people to alight.

    With too much nervousness, the narrator rushed to the stairs instead. But still, my theory is still not plausible since a restaurant can have many people, and the narrator is in a dept. store which also has many people.
