Japanese Cryptic: Spirited away forest

Translated from Japanese by Shishou(師匠)

Cryptic Story

There is a certain place in the northern part of Belgium that's knows as "spirited away forest". Those who go in there become 'spirited away'*, and disappear from this world. The local people are scared of it and don't go near it.

This is about a group of  University students from Japan who went inside that forest for fun.
When they(5 people) came out, they started counting each other mutually, just to be sure. They got relieved when they found that no one had disappeared.

Some days later, when they were packing their luggage to return to Japan, they found an unknown "Made in Japan" bag. They wondered whom did it belong to?

*Spirited away(神隠し): Spirited away or Kamikakushi means that a person suddenly vanishes from this world. I don't know if it's a real phenomenon or not, but I've seen it in various media like anime and video-games.

  1. I'm sorry but I don't quite get it. Sure it was happened in the west, but they are japanese people so what is weird about getting a "made in japan" bag? Anyway nice story you've picked ^^

I remembered how I enjoyed Spirited Away (Ghibli Movies)

    1. One person got spirited away, and the bag belonged to that person. Since the person got spirited away, so the friends couldn't remember that person's existence. Hence the extra Made in Japan bag.
I, too, have watched that movie. Loved it very much.

  2. Oh okay now I got it hehe. I was tricked because they already made sure that nobody is missing ( well they did not make a list so the counting misguide me teehee XD ). Thank you for explaining this ^^
