Japanese Cryptic: Watermelon

Translated from Japanese by Shishou(師匠)

Cryptic Story

There was a farmer who didn't know what to do with the person who was stealing and eating his watermelons.

He wondered whether a countermeasure exists. After racking up his brain for a while, he came up with the greatest idea. He made a signboard and put it in the farm.

The next day when the thief came to the farm, he read that signboard.
"Warning!

There's a one watermelon in this farm that has been injected with potassium cyanide."

The next day the farmer went to the farm and verified the melons. Not one of them was stolen.
However, the thief had written something extra on the signboard.

" Now there are two."

Personally, I think this story is more funny than scary.

  1. Quite funny because the thief is a mischievous person like the owner. And quite tricky also haha XD. The owner must throw away all the watermelons then. Eh I feel sorry for ther owner, because his efforts are all gone. Again :(

And also trivial, because cyanide incident is very popular in my country lately. There is a woman poison her own bestfriend with cyanide in the coffee. Very popular thread here ^^

    1. The thief was one step ahead than the owner. The owner would have understood that such a trick won't work against the master thief. XD

That's horrible and sad. Cyanide is a very lethal poison and affects the body quite fast.
I found the news about the incident. Will read it later on.
